Every food has a holiday these days.
In celebration of National Caramel Day, McDonald’s has announced a new McFlurry flavor, which will only be available for a limited time. While the taste may be new to McDonald’s in the United States, it is something that has previously appeared in restaurants in Canada.

In a press release to Fox News, McDonald’s announced its new Caramel Brownie McFlurry. The new article is made with vanilla soft serve and brownie pieces mixed with caramel in the cup.
While the new McFlurry will be announced on April 5 (this is National Caramel Day), it will only hit stores on May 3rd. According to the press release, it will be available as long as the stock lasts.

Chad Schafer, McDonald’s Sr. Director of Culinary, said: “As our fans rejoice at the changing of the seasons, we are excited to give them a new way to enjoy our most iconic dessert. McFlurry was inspired by the first “hot-day-of-the-year-feeling. The cool and creamy soft serving mixed with fudgy brownie pieces and sweet, sticky caramel makes every refreshing bite worthwhile.”

A new McFlurry flavor is not the only major change to McDonald’s.
Fox News reported earlier that McDonald’s is testing an AI program to improve drive-through efficiency and service. The program is reportedly still in the testing phase and was implemented at McDonald’s in Chicago.

The ordering program is apparently an attempt by the company to allow human workers to ensure the accuracy and quality of food products. The company apparently hopes that the AI can also help speed up the service, even if it’s just a minute or two.
