McCarthy to Republicans of the House: “Cut this crap out” and stop infighting

The House’s Republican leader Kevin McCarthy has warned members to stop public bickering within the conference if they Biden Administration and win back the majority in 2022, a congressional assistant told CBS News.

His blunt message to his colleagues on Wednesday’s call: “Cut this shit out.”

The warning comes because several members of the conference attempt to oust number three House Republican, Representative of Wyoming Liz Cheney, from her position as chair of the conference. Cheney voted accusation then President Trump and angered many Republicans by announcing a statement the day before her vote setting out her position – which was later quoted by several House Democrats during the floor debate.

McCarthy had earlier warned his members to call each other in public. January 6 riots in the Capitol because it could potentially endanger their colleagues.

The assistant said McCarthy’s frustration was audible during the call and his message was even stronger. McCarthy also said that the warfare within the parties is hindering the IDP, which focuses on policy initiatives and around the new president.
