Matthew McConaughey says he’s a real consideration to serve as governor of Texas.

Matthew McConaughey may soon be on his way to a career in politics.

In a recent appearance on the podcast “The Balanced Voice,” host Rania Mankarious said Texans would be “very happy” to have McConaughey as governor of the Lone Star State.

The 51-year-old actor then replied shortly: “This is a real consideration.”

In November, McConaughey also discussed the candidacy in his home state, Texas, and hints at a future career in politics if the demand is there.

“I do not know. I mean, it would not hang on to me,” the actor said in ‘The Hugh Hewitt Show’. “It will depend more on the people than I do.”

The “Dallas Buyers Club” star further explained, “I would say that. Look, politics seems like a broken issue to me right now. And when politics redefines its purpose, I can be much more interested.”

As for the policy he wants both Democrats and Republicans to rally, McConaughey said he is interested in “getting behind personal values to re-imprint our social contracts with each other as Americans.”

The star said both sides of the aisle had lost ‘trust’ in each other, leading to ‘us not [having] confidence in ourselves, ‘which he says could eventually lead to’ anarchy ‘.
