‘Master of None’ Season 3 Release Date: Coming to Netflix in May

Ansari has recorded all five episodes of the series’ upcoming third season.

“Master of None,” the Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang-made Netflix comedy series, returns to the streaming giant in May for its long-delayed third season. Netflix has not announced the official release date for ‘Master of None’ Season 3, but the show has been included preview of next month’s new movie and TV additions to the streamer. The announcement comes as a surprise as ‘Master of None’ has been on the air for four years. The program debuted in 2015 and returned for the second season in 2017.

‘Master of None’ will reportedly return with a five-episode season that will be titled ‘Master of None Presents: Moments in Love’. All five episodes were directed by Ansari and written by Ansari and Lena Waithe. The new episodes apparently focus exclusively on the first two seasons’ supporting character Denise, played by Waithe. The character and Waithe were the focus of the second season episode ‘Thanksgiving’, which Ansari and Waithe won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy. Ansari also won an Emmy in this category for the first season and shared it with co-creator Alan Yang.

The fate of ‘Master of None’ became unclear when Ansari was accused of sexual misconduct in January 2018. A woman with the pseudonym Grace accused the comedian of being overly aggressive with her on a date and told The Atlantic that she felt Ansari was ‘violated’. her, adding: “That the whole experience was actually awful.”

Ansari defended himself against the allegations and issued a statement saying: ‘In September last year, I met a woman at a party. We exchanged numbers. We texted back and forth and finally made an appointment. We went to eat, and after that we undertook sexual activities, which by all indications were completely unanimous. ”

At the Television Critics Association press tournament later in 2018, Netflix’s then VP of the original series Cindy Holland said that the streaming service could make a third season of ‘Master of None’ and just wait for Ansari to have the say on the development . . As Holland said: “We have definitely thought about it and would love to make another season of ‘Master of Nobody’ when Aziz is ready.”

While ‘Master of None’ was interrupted, Ansari and Netflix teamed up to release the comedian’s stand-up comedy special ‘Right Now’ in the summer of 2019. While rumors have been circulating that “Master of None” season 3 has been shot lately. year and with the release of 2021, Ansari, Waithe or Netflix have not confirmed that new episodes have been officially developed.

With the premiere in May, “Master of None” Season 3 is eligible for the upcoming 2021 Primetime Emmy Awards.
