The Chicago-based company said in a regulatory submission Thursday that the hack had taken its systems offline, slowing down and disrupting parts of Molson Coors’ operations, including production and shipping.
An investigation into the incident has begun, the company said, and it is “working 24 hours to set up its systems as quickly as possible.”
“We used a leading forensic IT firm to help our investigation into the incident,” said Adam Collins, head of communications and corporate affairs. “We will continue to communicate with our business partners with updates.”
Molson Coors (TAP) make a dozen beers, hard seltzer and non-alcoholic drinks.
There have been a number of leading cyber security incidents in recent times. For example, hundreds of thousands of Microsoft Exchange users around the world have been targeted as part of a Chinese linked hack.
