If believed in online leaks, Amazon is preparing for a massive PS5 recovery in the near future. A stock has been slated for March 18, but it appears PS5 buyers will have to wait longer.
Several PS5 tracking accounts have reported that the online retailer will be recharging the huge demand for PS5 at some point. This is a relief for the millions of gamers who are still eager to get their hands on Sony’s next generation gaming console.
Amazon PS5 Reload
Update: As of 20:23 on March 20, Amazon has no PS5 stock.
YouTuber Jake Randall and Matt Swider of TechRadar, who has been watching the PS5 stock for some time, suggested that the Amazon PS5 stock would be between March 9 and 11:00 ET on March 18th.
This eventually turns out to be wrong. The two-hour window came and went without a hint from Sony’s next-generation console on Amazon. However, all hope is not lost as several sources claim that the reboot of Amazon PS5 will take place soon. So we are keeping an eye on the website now and will keep you posted as stock inventory changes.
Amazon PS5 Reload: Quick Links
PS5: $ 499 by Amazon
Check stock: The flagship PS5 console features a 4K UDH Blu-ray disc drive. As a result, the design is slightly fuller than the all-digital model. It sells for $ 499 and includes a PS5 DualSense controller
PS5 digital edition: $ 399 by Amazon
Check stock: The PS5 digital console does not have a 4K UDH Blu-ray disc drive. As a result, it is slightly thinner than its counterpart. It also sells for $ 399 ($ 100 less) and includes a PS5 DualSense controller
Jake Randall too tweeted this week Amazon plans to offer 46,000 PS5 consoles during the next PS5 reload. TechRadar’s Matt Swider has evidence posted today on Twitter indicating that this is still the case. Although the era has clearly moved, there are still signs that Amazon is planning a massive PS5 reboot soon.
You did not miss it. The relaunch of Amazon PS5 is scheduled for today at 14:00 UTC (10:00 ET). Can fall at any time – it depends on Amazon. Best buy last Friday was 3 hours late on me. Everyone doubts then too. The good news? Amazon has a 46,000 PS5 stock – just wait. I’ll ping you. Information is free pic.twitter.com/c7UGidMjSK18 March 2021
While we don’t usually get hard numbers when it comes to console stock, 46,000 units seems like a good amount of PS5s. This could mean that this week will be the best chance since the release date for avid gamers on a system.
Similar reports have flown around on the other side of the dam, with several stock tracking accounts claiming that Amazon UK would drop PS5 stock along with its US counterpart this week.
This seems to be very accurate, as Amazon UK yesterday (March 17) supplemented the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition. To give gamers another chance to get their hands on these very popular machines.
Amazon UK will launch next week (15 to 17) and Smyths Toys expires late next week (18 to 20). I have also been asked a lot and would like to make it clear that ShopTo is a legitimate retailer selling the PS5. They are well established as an online retailer.14 March 2021
This is an excellent indication that the reports of a large Amazon PS5 stock are more than just wishful thinking, as in the past, Amazon has reloaded several regions within days of each other.
Of course, it’s important to remember that these are technically just rumors until the stock happens again, and Amazon itself has not officially confirmed anything.
The retailer usually releases stock without warning, and we do not expect to know the validity of these rumors until later in the week. However, with so many reliable PS5 stocks for tracking stocks that corroborate the information, it feels like there is at least some truth in the rumors.
PS5 shares are currently being replenished more frequently than ever before, indicating that the shares that have plagued the console since its launch are starting to disappear.
If Amazon has a PS5 stock later today, you should be ready. 46,000 PS5s certainly sounds like a lot, but the stock is likely to sell out within minutes as gamers and (unfortunately) scalpers compete for the console. Below you will find our best tips to help you be one of the lucky ones to receive the elusive email for confirming the order.
How to get a PS5 at Amazon this Thursday
There is no guaranteed success formula when it comes to securing a PS5 during an Amazon stock, but there are a few things you can do to show the odds in your favor.
First, make sure you have an Amazon account ahead of time. You can also save information and payment details in advance.
Getting stock in your basket is only half the battle, once you have managed it to be a race to go watch. If you are stuck entering your card number and zip code, chances are the console will sell out as you type.
Signing up for Amazon Prime is also handy if you want fast shipping, but it will not give you the benefit of picking up a PS5 – you do not have to sign in to regain first access to a stock.
A somewhat odd Amazon trick that has been doing the rounds recently is that you can put the console in your wish list in advance when it is refilled. This allows you to bypass the listing page, which almost always crashes due to overwhelming traffic.
By using this trick, you can usually get stock in your basket once the stock is available again, and this gives you a significant advantage over the people who are stuck trying to refresh the actual PS5 listing page in hopes of getting it to work.
Make sure you have the PS5 in your wish list well in advance, as you can still add it even if the console is sold out. Do it well before the stock takes place again to take advantage of this trick.
We tested this method ourselves the last time Amazon re-uploaded the Xbox Series X and can confirm that it does work. We managed to get the Series X into our basket four times, while we were unable to get the console through the listing page in our basket once because it kept crashing.
