The Department of Public Health added the state of Missouri, Oregon and Washington to the list, which previously included only Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

States that are on the lower risk list are based on the following two criteria: average daily cases per 100,000 people under 10 and a positive test rate below 5 percent.

Anyone entering Massachusetts from the restricted states must be quarantined for 14 days and complete the Massachusetts travel form unless they can pass a negative test within 72 hours.

Failure to follow these steps could result in a $ 500 fine.

Although new COVID-19 cases are declining, the state is still urging residents not to travel to high-risk countries.
