Mass Effect: Legendary Edition remasters BioWare’s original Mass Effect trilogy. To give you a better idea of how much transformation we’re talking about, we’ve put together several comparison screenshots.
Since the original Mass Effect gets the most out of the remaster in terms of updated character models and locations, you’ll probably see the big differences in those screenshots. It is said that there are also noticeable improvements for Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 in the Legendary Edition – also surprising that BioWare has changed the recording for certain scenes in ME2 and ME3. You can see in the composition below what we are talking about, with certain scenes that are more zoomed in than how they appeared in the original trilogy.
For convenience, all the screenshots on the left side of the equation are from the original trilogy (taken from the PC version of the game), while the right side is from the Legendary Edition. We have listed the screenshots in the order in which they appear.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be released in May for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. In addition to the Legendary Edition, BioWare is also working on a fifth Mass Effect that serves as a direct sequel to the original trilogy, Dragon Age 4, and a remake of Anthem. However, EA is reportedly meeting to decide whether Anthem is still a project worthy of further resources.
