Mass Effect: Legendary Edition one DLC package missing – BioWare says it’s heartbreaking ‘

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is the ultimate collection for the trilogy, a complete package with all three games and every additional content – with one exception. (Well, two exceptions, but the exclusion from the multiplayer of Mass Effect 3 is a whole other look at worms.) You are not playing Mass Effect 1’s Pinnacle Station.

You might have guessed that you were watching the previous reissues of the first Mass Effect closely. Pinnacle Station is also missing in the otherwise complete PlayStation 3 version of the game, an absence attributed to corrupt source files at the time. It appears that this time BioWare was no longer lucky enough to locate the source.

BioWare tells Game Informer that it has done everything possible to locate the original files, including contacting the people at Demiurge Studios, the contract company that developed Pinnacle Station. Yet that data was almost completely corrupt. Game director Mac Walters says “it was heartbreaking to leave it all on the operating room floor.”

Well, maybe none of us should be so sad about it. Pinnacle Station is a fairly simple series of battle arenas with just a little extra story to pursue. This is fine, but it’s easily the weakest of the series’ most important add-on content.
