Social media footage of Super Bowl LV events with stars over the weekend almost makes it look like the pandemic is over.

In one case, 50 Cent, Diplo, DJ Steve Aoki, Migos and Tory Lanez all performed between Thursday and Saturday during a series of concerts before the event by Barstool Sports and a nightclub in Miami, E11EVEN. TMZ showed the crowd the first night, mixing without masks and of course the artists did not always have it either.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 is still raging a lot. As of Monday, more than 464,000 people had died from the virus and more than 27 million cases had been diagnosed in the United States alone.

People on social media quickly commented on the contradiction.

One of them was Rick Kriseman, who happened to be the mayor of St. Louis. Petersburg, Florida, where 50 Cent (real name: Curtis Jackson) also held a party in a hangar at Albert Whitted Airport on Friday.

“This is not how we should celebrate the Super Bowl,” Kriseman said. “It’s not safe or smart. It’s stupid.” He promised to investigate the party and said: “it could end up costing someone more than 50 cents.”

The rapper joined Diplo – or Thomas Pentz – at the WTR Pool and Grill in Tampa on Saturday. TMZ reports that about 2,000 people attended the latter, which also caught the attention of officials.

A Tampa police spokesman said in a statement to TMZ: “Scenes from WTR last night and a few other clubs were incredibly disappointing.”

According to the Department of Health, Florida reported 5,737 new COVID-19 cases Monday, including 873 new cases from Tampa Bay.

Reps to Jackson, Aoki and Diplo did not immediately respond to Yahoo Entertainment’s request for comment. WTR Pool and Grill also did not respond. An organizer of the Aoki concert at WTR at Tampa, Fla., News Station WTVT, insisted that COVID-19 protocols to prevent the spread of the virus, from taking temperatures to administering rapid tests is.

Lanez was part of a famous football game in which several alums of ABCs were Bachelor franchise competed – without masks, according to the sponsor’s official Instagram account. Peter Weber, Jason Tartick and Blake Horstmann were all spotted. Celebrity Sweat, the organizer of the event, announced on social media that participants will be selected for COVID-19 and that their temperature will be checked.

People watching at home had a lot to say about the star-studded crowds they saw in photos.

– Caroline Allen (@ByCallen) 8 February 2021It may be a long way off, but I feel that a better way to honor health professionals is not to allow maskless opportunities during the Super Bowl … https://t.co/9JYCJZszbA

– Courtney (@courtneyamoose) 7 February 2021Between the Super Bowl taking place tonight in this city and the ridiculously maskless 50-cent mega-party this weekend, I can’t wait to see the numbers climb where I live 🤩 https://t.co/GneE4eVJOq

– Whitney Meyer (@itswhitneymeyer) 8 February 2021All these maskless, award-winning celebrities who spent the rest of their lives at Super Bowl distributors as if 450,000+ people had not died from a highly contagious, deadly AIRBORNE virus, and like Florida a free pass from pandemic reality is, makes me sick. . Shameful.
