Mary Carey, former porn star, elects her governor of California as Newsom recalls

A former porn star throws her hat in the ring for California government Gavin Newsom.

Mary Carey announced this week that she is running for governor of California, as the former adult actress joins a crowded field of candidates to replace Newsom, a Democrat, if the recall attempt causes a special election this year, according to reports this week .

The star of movies like ‘Dirty Angels: Welcome to Lust Angeles’, took place earlier in 2003, when California Republicans successfully helped recall Democratic Gov. Gray Davis.

Voters eventually replaced him with Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carey – who was 23 at the time – admitted she was running as a publicity stunt. She finished 10th out of a field of more than 130 candidates.

“Last time I was young, dumb and full of fun,” Carey, now 40, said in an interview with San Francisco’s KGO TV this week. “And this time I’m more experienced and not going to lay down this position. I’m ready to be on top.”

Years later, Carey already has a website where merchandise – t-shirts, suitcases, aprons and stickers – related to the governor’s bid are available for purchase.

“I’m getting ready to take another chance on the California governor’s chair !! Political strategy is on the way … Any support to fight the major political parties will help save our state!” Carey says on her website. “Finally a politician you want to screw through !!!”

As previously reported, reality TV star and former Olympic athlete Caitlyn Jenner (71) is also thinking about hitting Newsom.

California has a low bar to enter a by-election. A candidate has to pay about $ 4,000, which can attract serious candidates and others who may be looking for fame, reports say.

In a few weeks, the provincial election officials will report on whether memorial supporters have submitted the necessary signatures to bring about an election, Politico reports.
