‘It has a completely different DNA than the [other Marvel movies], “Hayek explains.” It is shot differently than all the others. It’s in the right places and they’ve got a crazy alien look. I do not know if I can talk about what they do with the camera, but … it’s mostly not done by mail. The cinematography is incredible. ‘
We heard earlier that the director of Eternals, Chloé Zhao, shot the film with the same rig as she used for her indie film Nomadland, because she allegedly wanted to keep the story grounded and experimental, even though it was a ‘very large, comprehensive, versatile story was’. which was apparently also packed with the best pitch Kevin Feige of Marvel has ever heard.
Becoming the MCU’s most “scientific” film, Eternals follows the abuse of an immortal alien race created by the Celestials as they reunite to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants. Hayek, who admits that she knew very little about her character before accepting the role, portrays a centuries-old champion who previously confused people with the Aztec deity Quetzalcoatl.
Hayek referred to herself for the first time as Ajax as an empowering experience. “There was something touching, not just for me, but for everything, all the different stereotypes. She’s not sexy. Do you know what I’m saying? She’s not sexy at all. I’m very short. I’m being bullied “Because I’ve been short all my life. And suddenly it does not matter. You’re a superhero in the Marvel universe. It moved me.”
Marvel’s Eternals, the third movie in Phase 4 of the MCU, was part of a large number of Disney movies that were delayed towards the end of last year. The film would now appear on November 5, 2021.
