Marvel’s Avengers will slow down levels with Hawkeye DLC on March 18

Marvel’s Avengers have apparently come out on the lightest shoulders of gamers, but there’s another new DLC on the way in Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect. Prior to arriving on March 18, the developers outlined some changes to the base game, including significant benefits to clearing out XP and cosmetics. In short: leveling is going to take longer.

As explained in a post on the game’s website, the current XP curve is ‘not a curve at all’, but a straight line. “This has led to the pace of issues, such as that skill points are currently being rewarded too quickly, which can be confusing and overwhelming for newer players. We want every decision to invest in a skill or heroic to be more meaningful. ”

They therefore increase the amount of XP needed to rise to “about level 25”. The required amount will continue to increase as you progress to the level 50 level. The change will not affect the characters that have already been leveled, but only new characters that you want to level after the March 18 update.

The same update brings changes to cosmetics to make more players’ choice in the collection of items you want. Again, players will not lose anything that has already been earned, but cosmetic items that would previously be unlocked through random drops will henceforth be able to be purchased with a currency in the game from the cosmetic seller.

Was the secret to slowing down progress to make the game more enjoyable? Games need friction to drive players to make interesting decisions, but I do not know how that will change the feel of the game. Honestly, I’m not sure if I have the idea of having to raise superheroes – it seems contrary to their concept.

Future Imperfect will add Clint “Hawkeye” Barton as a playable character to Marvel’s Avengers, after first appearing as an ally with a playable Kate Bishop in the previous update, Taking AIM. It will be released on March 18th.
