Marvel’s Avengers Lack of Updates Explained by Studio in an Interview

The head of the Crystal Dynamics studio, Scot Amos, explains the lack of updates to Marvel’s Avengers in an interview and says the delays were for a good reason.

In a recent interview, Marvel’s Avengers game developer Crystal Dynamics explains the lack of updates to the game. Marvel’s Avengers had a faint launch in September 2020, and many players expected a plethora of updates and new features to fix the base game. Instead, Crystal Dynamics seems to stop pulling the trigger on future updates altogether, releasing patches and fixes for the game after launch. One patch even fixed more than a thousand bugs. But another patch has the time needed to increase characters, which are actually made Marvel’s Avengers worse, and it makes it much harder to make level 25 higher than to solve the tempo problems. However, Crystal Dynamics recently opened up about its development decisions and the lack of new content after the launch.

In a content roadmap issued by Crystal Dynamics will eventually reach many new features Marvel’s Avengers, some that have kept fans in anxious anticipation since the game’s release. The PlayStation 5 version of the game has just been released, which reduces loading times and adds a performance and quality mode for the footage. In the roadmap, a Black Panther DLC is expected to arrive this summer, along with many new updates that offer content rather than solutions. One disappointing aspect of the roadmap is that it looks like Spider-Man will not be arriving anytime soon, but Crystal Dynamics claims that the title Marvel character is in the works and will be added. Amos explains that in the early stages of the game after the launch, the team dedicated to developing new content in the game was told to work on patches that would rather solve the problems of the game. In the interview, Amos admits that the launch of Marvel’s Avengers was imperfect, and the goal of the development team was to correct the fact by listening to the fans and the media to improve the game.

While fans may disagree, Crystal Dynamics wanted to provide a firmer foundation before continuing to develop and add new content to it Marvel’s Avengers. The delay was purposeful, and although it would have been nice to see the next generation of Marvel’s Avengers earlier, Amos and the team may have had a point in ensuring the game was in a better state before focusing on expansion. Now, after the problems that solved the game’s many problems, Crystal Dynamics is adding new content to the game, hopefully in the way it was planned. If they follow the content roadmap, fans will receive exciting updates.

Hopefully there are no more delays in the stream of new content added by Crystal Dynamics. In a No Man Sky-esc mode, Amos seems to improve the game that was initially released. With promises of future MCU cosmetics coming Marvel’s Avengers and the recent news, this is definitely the trend for Marvel fans. Amos wants to keep current players busy, bring back many fans who have already left and attract the attention of new fans who have yet to give up Marvel’s Avengers a try.
