Cuban and the Mavericks did not announce the removal of the national anthem before matches, but The Athletic reached out to the team after realizing it had not been played before Monday’s match. According to The Athletic, a number of team workers only noticed the removal of the national anthem. They also said it was not announced or explained internally.
