Mark Brunell Becomes New Lions QB Coach

The Detroit Lions continue to add former NFL players to the coaching staff. Longtime NFL fullback Mark Brunell has been named as the team’s new QB coach, according to reports.

Brunell was interviewed by the Lions this week and he is expected to be dealt with quickly. He currently works as a radio host in Jacksonville, where he has spent the highest points in his long career.

Brunell has coaching experience, but only at the high school level. He played 17 years in the NFL, starting with the Green Bay Packers as a fifth-round draft pick in 1993 from Washington. He played for the Packers, Jaguars, Jets, Washington and the Saints, where Brunell completed his career as a teammate of new Lions head coach Dan Campbell. Brunell, a leftist man, was one of the best QBs with double threat in his era.
