Marjorie Taylor Greene was in a dispute over masks, Pelosi exploded

Incoming representative Marjorie Taylor Greene and another new Republican House member were involved in a dispute over coronavirus masks when the 117th Congress met Sunday for the first time, reports journalist Jake Sherman.

Greene and the unidentified Republican apparently told floor staff they were not going to put on masks, Sherman report.

The Republican and Democratic staff ended up on the floor in a ‘screaming game,’ Sherman said.

Greene responded quickly to the report.

“Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi has changed the COVID rules because she is desperate to hold on to the hammer. No one can attack me over masks if Pelosi sends Democrats with positive COVID tests on the floor to vote for her for the Speaker, ‘Greene wrote on Twitter in an apparent reference to Representative Gwen Moore, D-Wis. allowed to vote on the floor after announcing on December 28 that she had tested positive for coronavirus.

“Well, I actually have a mask,” Greene went on to post a photo of her face mask with the slogan “Trump Won.”

The House will vote on Monday on a new ‘rules package’ to launch the new Congress, which will include an external voting option. But in the House, you cannot pass rules from the 116th Congress to the 117th Congress.

Under normal circumstances, all 435 elected members of the House would enter the room to vote electronically and record their presence. But during the coronavirus, the House will invite members to the rooms in seven groups of about 72 people. The first part begins with Rep Alma Adams, DN.C., and runs through Rep Michael Cloud, R-Texas. The seventh and final group stretches from Rep Joe Joe, RS.C., through Rep Lee Zeldin, RN.Y.
