Marjorie Taylor Green under shot after LGBTQ feud with rep. Newman
U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is under fire after a dispute with Democratic Representative Marie Newman on Twitter over LGBTQ rights.

WASHINGTON – Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the first-year congresswoman whose support for QAnon and other extremist conspiracy theories has made her a focal point in the House, is again condemned for putting up a sign denying the existence of transgender identity – throughout the gang congressman who has a transgender child.
The Republican of Georgia back and forth with Rep. Marie Newman, D-Ill., Began with Newman’s remarks on the House floor on the Equality Act. The legislation protecting the civil rights of LGBTQ Americans was passed by the House on Thursday.
Newman spoke about the importance of the Equality Act for transgender individuals like her daughter. Greene then posted a tweet denying her daughter’s gender identity.
“Your biological son does NOT belong in my daughters’ bathrooms, locker rooms and sports teams,” Greene said.

In response, Newman displayed a transgender pride flag outside her office and posted a video on which she put it up, saying she wants Greene to see it. Newman later told New York Magazine that she had raised the flag to send a message to a ‘bully’.
‘I’m going to put this flag here so you can see it every day and see what you do, your hatred and your contempt. So that’s all there was to it. It was just to make a statement, “she told the magazine after the incident.
Greene, who was removed from her committee assignments in the House over her statements and social media messages supporting false conspiracies, then put up her sign that read, “There are TWO genders: MALE & WOMAN. Trust science!”
“Our neighbor, @RepMarieNewman, wants to pass the so-called ‘Equality Act’ to destroy women’s rights and religious freedoms. Thought we would set up ours so she could look at it every time she opened her door,” Greene tweeted.

Greene drew reaction on social media, including from Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill.
‘It’s sad and I’m sorry it happened. Rep. “Newmans’ daughter is transgender, and this video and tweet represent the hate- and fame-driven politics of self-promotion at all costs,” Kinzinger tweeted in response to Greene’s video.
Progressive Representative Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., Slammed Greene for her “generosity.”
“Protection and rights for transgender people are literally a matter of life or death,” Tlaib tweeted. “To deny a congressman and deny their need for rights is cruel and that should not be what the government is about.”
“I hung mine for Trans Remembrance Day in 2019 and it has remained so ever since. @RepMTG should probably also avoid the Rayburn building if she does not want to see another ‘disgusting’ symbol of love and acceptance,” Rep. Gerry Connolly tweeted. , D-Va.
Progressive groups have asked Facebook to take action after the platform removed Newman’s video, and later repaired it, citing an ‘error’ but taking no action against Greene’s video.
NARAL Pro-Choice America said Facebook should be held accountable.
“Facebook is failing all its users and all Americans by not applying its policies consistently. “Facebook and other social media companies continue to spread right-wing disinformation and conspiracy theories at the expense of the truth and freedoms of those most marginalized by our society,” the organization said in a statement.
