Republican Georgian Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has announced that she will soon pass a resolution suspending Democratic California Representative Maxine Waters from Congress.
On Sunday afternoon, Greene tweeted: ‘I will soon issue a resolution to suspend @RepMaxineWaters of Congress for her continued incitement to violence against innocent American people. ‘
“Rep Waters is a danger to our society,” she added.

In a statement by email to Newsweek, Greene’s office said it announced plans to evict Waters “after California Congresswoman invited Black Live [sic] Case domestic terrorists to shoot gunshots at National Guardsmen in Minnesota. ‘
“As sitting Congresswoman of the United States, Rep. Maxine Waters threatened a jury to demand conviction and threaten violence if Chauvin is found not guilty. It is also an abuse of power,” Greene added.
Greene’s remarks Sunday come hours after Waters joined hundreds of protesters at Black Lives Matter on Saturday night to protest outside the police department in the city of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.
The crowds gathered for a seventh night of protests, following the murder of Daunte Wright, to rally police against police brutality and systemic racism. They have repeatedly called for heavy charges against Kimberly Potter, the officer involved in the shooting.
Waters spoke to the crowd and told them she supported the murder charges against Potter and advised the city not to settle charges of manslaughter.
Closer to Minneapolis, Derek Chauvin’s murder trial disrupted the city. Protesters across the United States have demanded that conviction be handed over to the police officer accused of killing George Floyd.
Asked by reporters about the Chauvin trial, Waters said she was “hopeful” the police would be found guilty.

If Chauvin is not convicted, ‘we need to stay on the streets and become more active, we need to become more confrontational. We need to make sure they know that we mean business, ”she added.
Republicans immediately condemned Waters’ remarks, and some accused the legislature of inciting violence.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz has accused Democrats of actively encouraging riots and violence.
“They want to tear us apart,” he tweeted along with a Daily mail article on Waters during the protest. “We need to stay on the streets,” Waters was quoted as saying, arguing that protesters “should be more confrontational” and that they should ignore the curfew. “
In a tweet, Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado: “Why does a sitting member of Congress encourage protesters to become ‘confrontational’?”
“Why is Maxine Waters trying to stir up another state? What can benefit from this?” tweeted Lauren Boebert of Colorado.
