Mariners are apparently in agreement with RHP Ken Giles over an agreement for several years

Overall, there’s a lot to like about this signing, though it’s a fun toy that Mariners fans will have to wait a year to see. The traditional reservations about repairing TJ also apply, because not all roads back are smooth, and Giles is on the first leg of a long and tedious road. Maybe the Mariners can join him with fellow TJ fighters Andrés Muñoz and Matt Magill at the complex. Furthermore, it is encouraging that the team is already – even minimally – investing in the 2022 team. However, it will be nice to see more investment in the 2021 team, especially as memories of buying season tickets are starting to appear in people’s inboxes.
