GREEN MEADOWS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) – An apparent marijuana-growing operation went up in flames during a major fire Saturday afternoon in the South Los Angeles area.
About 170 Los Angeles firefighters were dispatched to the blaze in the 8700 block of South Crocker Street in the Green Meadows area.
The intense flames kept firefighters in a defensive position.
Initially, the 300 ‘by 300’ commercial building was apparently a furniture manufacturing business, but firefighters discovered that it was actually a marijuana growing industry.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
