The Political Committee of the Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD) unveiled this proposal to the members of the referendum organization, as it presented its postal intentions as candidates for the Presidency of the Republic.

However, the PLD Secretary General Charlie Mariotti explained that these were simply his “aspirants for presidential candidates”, and that the status of the party designated as candidates had been approved by the Central Committee.
This information was shared at the conclusion of the meeting of the Political Committee, which lasted for more than six hours.
On the subject of the possible presidential candidacies, Mariotti stated that only “someramente” was approached.
