Marcus Stroman, Mets cattle Phils in double head

NEW YORK – So this is what the 2021 Mets are supposed to look like.

Early April was hampered by a divergent schedule, five postponed or suspended matches, a foul that froze like a blue screen with runners in the points position, a bull struggling to finish matches, two top-of-the-line -the-order hitters who barely produced and a fan base that gets tired of everything, the Mets on Tuesday became better versions of themselves in a double head of the Phillies at Citi Field.

Thus, for the first time in the young season, they moved above .500.

Hours after stealing a 4-3 victory in extra innings in the half of the double header, the Mets put together their most complete game of the season in a 4-0 victory at the Phillies Soccer Tournament, with Marcus Stroman who completed six innings. Stroman was electric throughout, retiring the first nine batsmen he faced and causing two doubles.

The Mets scored all the runs they would need to score Phillies ace Aaron Nola in fourth place.
