Man United fans break into Carrington training ground against Glazers protest

A group of Manchester United fans broke into the club’s Carrington training ground in protest against the failed plans for a European Super League before leaving after a conversation with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

A group of about 20 fans entered United’s training ground on Thursday morning with banners reading “Glazers out” and “we decide when to play.”

Man United’s executive vice president resigns

“Around 9 am [BST on Thursday morning] a group gained access to the club’s training ground, “confirmed a statement from United.” The driver and others spoke to them. Buildings were safe and the group has now left the site. ‘

They also reportedly blocked both entrances while players and staff showed up for practice ahead of Sunday’s Premier League game against Leeds United.

United announced their intention to withdraw from the ESL on Tuesday night after widespread criticism over the controversial plans announced 48 hours earlier.

Chairman Joel Glazer apologized to fans on Wednesday, but the scheme – seen as a coup by 12 of the world’s most powerful clubs – redesigned calls for a change of ownership at Old Trafford.

Earlier this week, Ed Woodward resigned as executive vice-president of United after eight years in the role.

The former JP Morgan investment banker, who succeeded David Gill as the man responsible for United’s day-to-day operations in 2012, was set to retire at the end of the season, sources told ESPN.
