AVONDALE, AZ – Avondale police are looking for a suspect after a shooting in the parking lot of an IHOP near Interstate 10 and Dysart Road Sunday morning.
According to police, the incident took place around 10:30 a.m. when they were called to the scene with reference to a shooting.
Initial information is that 24-year-old James Archuleta was shot by an unknown suspect who fled the scene before officers arrived on the scene, authorities said.
The victim was then transported to a nearby hospital where he died.
The Avondale police station is now looking for a newer BMW sedan of gray or silver color that was allegedly involved in the shooting.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing and the suspect is currently outstanding.
