Man falsely confesses he had murder to get police to plow his way

A Ukrainian man has confessed to a fake murder – in a bizarre ploy to remove snow from his path.

The man, who was not publicly identified by name, called police Saturday night to say he had stabbed his mother’s boyfriend to death, reports Agence France-Presse.

He also immediately warned police to come with a snow plow and said it would be impossible to reach his home, Yuliya Kovtun, a police spokesperson, said on Monday.

But officers were able to get out of the house with only an SUV and, according to Kovtun, found the “victim” there unharmed.

Meanwhile, the ‘killer’ immediately admitted that he had found out about the murder, the police spokesperson said.

He apparently came up with the scheme the day after he was unhappy earlier on Saturday with the quality of cleaning on his way by city workers, Kovtun said.

The man, from the town of Grybova Rudnya, now faces a fine of up to 119 hryvnias, or about $ 4, for filing a false complaint.

The incident took place when snow fell in Ukraine over the past few days, with a large part of the country.
