Man detained in Miramar Dunkin ‘after chase by Miami-Dade and Broward

MIRAMAR, Fla. A man has been detained at a Dunkin ‘store in Miramar after a police chase broke through streets in the provinces of Miami-Dade and Broward.

Sky 10 was over and thereafter Local 10 cameras captured the large police presence at the Dunkin ‘at 2600 South University Drive in Miramar.

The chase, which police say involved a stolen black Infinity, originated about seven miles away in northeast Miami-Dade County and moved to Broward. Sometimes the Infinity was in the opposite traffic in Miami Gardens and nailed unsuspecting drivers in other cars on the road missing.

Miami-Dade police say detectives spotted a vehicle that matched the description of one used in burglaries in the vicinity of NE 2nd Avenue and 158 Street. The driver fled from the police.

Eventually the pursuit was halted and the Infinity continued.

The four-door Infiniti was then spotted by Local 10 News cameras circling a strip shop in Miramar before parking at a spot and the driver casually getting out. Then he walks into a Dunkin ‘restaurant.

An employee of Dunkin ‘told Local 10 News that the persons officers were looking for were in that store. We passed the information to the police and within minutes armed Miramar officers entered the business.

“The police officers of Miramar determined that the person was involved in the quarrel [in Dunkin’] was the same subject that fled for the detectives of the Miami-Dade police, ”Det. Khristopher Welch of the Miami-Dade Police Department said in an email.

He said Miramar police officers detained the man.

His identity has not yet been released, and authorities have not announced any charges.

According to a Dunkin ’employee, the man bought a sandwich with a $ 100 bill and sat in the donut shop for almost two hours.

The employee said the man was initially dressed in black and wearing a hat, but then he used another employee’s cell phone and eventually someone came and brought him new clothes.

According to the employee, the man changed his clothes before trying to leave the business, but he was apprehended by the police.

“It’s a little tight because we usually do not have that much excitement here,” said Florrie Lopez, who works in the area. ‘It looks like they were in a hurry to park because [the car] is titled on a curb and sideways. ”

The car was searched and has since been towed away. No injuries were reported as a result of the chase.

The Miami-Dade County Police Department is continuing its investigation.
