Man arrested at Disney resort in Florida after refusing temperature control

A man arrested after refusing a temperature check at Disney Springs told authorities he could not be told to leave because he had spent $ 15,000 on his vacation.

Kelly Sills, a tourist from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, bypassed the medical show of the Orlando attraction in February and at the request of Disney employees refused to have his temperature checked, according to a police report from the Sheriff’s Department of Orange County .

On the camera recording recently released, Sills refused to leave when asked by law enforcement.

“I spent $ 15,000 to get here,” Sills said after a deputy told him he was officially considered a felony. According to the police report, deputies and a security manager at Disney Springs Sills approached outside the Boathouse restaurant.

Sills allegedly quarreled with the safety driver and shouted at him before the driver told him he was “no longer welcome in the park today”, the report said.

A woman could be heard asking officers not to capture the footage of Sills in the body.

“He’s not listening,” replied a man. ‘All he had to do was check the temperature. That’s it. “

At another point in the video, Sills asks if authorities can take his temperature before they have to leave him. Someone replied that they would do it in jail, according to the NBC affiliate WFLA. Sills also claims he was a Disney shareholder at another point.

According to court documents, Sills pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge. His lawyer, Michael Zmijewski, declined to comment on Sunday.
