A man and five children were killed after an early-morning shooting in Muskogee, police said.
According to police, reports of a shooting came near Augusta Avenue and Indiana Street around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
According to police, when officers arrived on the scene, they found a man and four children dead in the house. A fifth child was taken by helicopter to a Tulsa hospital, but police say the child was also killed. Officials said there was also one woman with life-threatening injuries who was taken to a Tulsa hospital. According to police, the victims appear to be related.
Police say when they arrived there, they found a suspect with a gun and an officer fired a round where the suspect was missing. After a brief pursuit, officers say, the suspect was arrested. Officers have not yet released details about the identity of the suspect or his relationship with the victims.
