Macomb Health Department extends COVID-19 vaccine admission

DETROIT On Saturday, the Department of Health in Macomb County announced the expansion of priority groups eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

The health department took the following groups into account:

  • People 16 years and older with disabilities and / or medical conditions, as well as their relatives and guardians of the caregiver.

  • Guardians and conservation staff required by law to visit and actively visiting wards; and attorneys who must attend personal proceedings that work in close proximity with others that might not otherwise take place virtually.

“We are encouraged to see some positive trends with our vaccination strategy here in Macomb County,” said Mac Hack CEO Mark Hackel.

“With an ever-growing number of elderly people receiving the vaccine and the doses being increased, we are committed to providing vaccines to individuals with disabilities and legal attorneys.”

Hackel will appear with other regional leaders on Flashpoint on Sunday to discuss key issues, including the distribution of vaccines.
