Apple apparently plans to unveil a new one 14-inch MacBook Pro this year, along with a 16-inch MacBook Pro also. Both are expected to have a Mini-LED lighting screen next door with thinner edges and will launch in the second half of the year.
This report comes by chance DigiTimes, and cites information previously provided by veteran Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. It certainly seems all but confirmed that Apple will launch both of these two MacBook Pros later this year.
The screen format is not the only information that Kuo teased about the MacBook Pro 2021. These new MacBooks also offer a brighter Mini-LED display, M1 chips, a new design with a flat edge at the top and bottom, MagSafe loading and physical function tests rather than a touchbar
The 14-inch model is likely to replace the current 13-inch MacBook Pro, though we expect the rumored new design, which has slimmer edges, to mean it will only be a slightly larger laptop.
Many of these details were further confirmed by Bloomberg, so it looks like we’ll build a solid picture of what the latest MacBook Pro will look like.
The most exciting news, however, is that the 2021 series of Apple’s flagship laptop will be much more spacious when it comes to ports. In us MacBook Pro (2020) review, we were disappointed that the premium device only offered a few Thunderbolt ports, so it’s great to see Apple fix this issue.
According to sources like Bloomburg and Kuo, this year the MacBook Pros will repair the SD card reader and HDMI port within the range – so these are at least a few dongles you can do without. However, you will still need one for any USB-A accessories.
Except for a vague ‘second half of the year’, we did not have a solid timing for when Apple will officially announce the 2021 MacBook Pro, but an earlier launch date for July was offered. However, this is a best case scenario, and only in late summer or even fall can we take a good look at the next MacBook Pro.
