Hope Zachary Levi is willing to take action against some Hollywood Titans as the pantheon of bad guys from the A-list in Shazam! Fury of the Gods not doubled. According to Variety, Elementary star Lucy Liu ascended to the level of goddess along with Helen Mirren’s previously announced Hespera, as the villainous Calypso. While their respective gods, Variety write, “do not have a clear counterpart in DC Comics”, they are the daughters of Atlas in Greek mythology. The Titan is ‘one of the sources of the powers of Shazam!’, Specifically stamina, along with Solomon, Hercules, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury. Oh right, that’s an acronym!
On humanity’s side of the legendary feud are Zachary Levi, who returns as the superhero of the franchise, and Asher Angel, who is Shazam! S alter ego Billy Batson plays. The sequel will be directed by returning director David F. Sandberg and written by Henry Gayden, with a scheduled release date of June 2, 2023.
