Louisiana police on Monday released surveillance footage of an armed robbery at a gun shop and shooting range that killed three people and injured two others.

Saturday’s shootout, in which three people were killed and two others wounded at a gun shop and shooting range in Louisiana, began when a customer refused to unload his weapon, an operator of the store said.
According to the Jefferson Parish coroner, Jefferson’s 47-year-old Herbert “Noah” Fischbach, Belle Chasse’s 59-year-old Veronica Billiot, and New Orleans’ 27-year-old Joshua Jamal Williams died in the shooting on Saturday afternoon. by Jefferson Gun Outlet in Metairie.
Sheriff Joseph Lopinto said earlier that the shooter initially struck two people inside, after which several other people – whether employees or shop customers – shot at the shooter, inside and outside the building.
According to Lopinto, two other people were also hit by gunfire and were hospitalized in a stable condition. Michael Mayer, a driver at the gun, identified Williams as the shooter.
He told The Times-Picayune / The New Orleans Advocate that Williams entered the store in suburban New Orleans on Saturday with a loaded firearm and was asked by a compliance officer to unload it.
Mayer said Williams “got excited about the request, pulled his gun out of his pants and started shooting.” He said employees and customers fired back and “eliminated the threat.”
Mayer also said he was limited to what he could tell newspapers, as the investigation is still ongoing.
Herbert Fischbach’s wife Nancy also confirmed that he was one of the three murdered. According to her, Fischbach is a specialist in special effects and an armor that oversees the use of weapons on film.
Nancy Fischbach said her husband worked at the gun shop due to COVID-19 restrictions on the film industry. She believes he died to help people in the store.
“He helped people,” Fischbach said. “He bowed back to everyone … he would not hurt anyone if they did something wrong.”
