The former One Direction member continued: “That’s why I decided to put it out there in the world today. I’m going to start my own music management business to help develop new artists. Keep an eye on this space.”
Tomlinson pointed out that the announcement of the management company ‘is the first step in realizing the idea, but at this stage it’s all an idea!’ He also explained in another tweet that his plans do not include setting up a record company.
In July 2020, Tomlinson announced that he had divorced Simon Cowell’s Syco. The artist signed a solo recording contract with the label in 2017.
“I hope everyone is doing well! Just wish Syco Music and I had agreed to separate,” Tomlinson tweeted at the time. I am very excited for the future and to be in the studio again and writing the next album. Can’t wait to finally see everyone on tour !! “
One Direction’s five studio albums have been released by Syco / Columbia Records.
In early 2019, Tomlinson joined Arista Records in the Sony Music family, where he signed to Epic under Syco in 2017. As part of the agreement, the singer’s solo music was distributed by Syco / Arista in the United States.
Tomlinson has released four solo singles since One Direction announced its break in 2015. His latest album, Walls, was released in 2020 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, giving the renowned Arista Records the first top-10 spot in the charts in years.
