Local provinces begin spreading emergency vaccination

WACO, Texas (KWTX) – The closure of Bell County vaccination centers on Thursday and Friday and the possibility of closing more next week, Bell County health leaders have determined that the province is running more doses to expire on Monday than it can has. spread through its vaccination centers.

The health district said about 2,334 doses were at risk of expiring at midnight on Tuesday, February 16th.

The country is actively working on various actions to ensure that no thawed vaccines are wasted.

These actions include using the existing vaccination waiting list, contacting a local health care provider and involving the three largest school districts in Bell County.

“Our first action was to determine the maximum number of new appointments we could add on Saturday at our first dosing ranges,” Bell County Judge David Blackburn said.

“We were able to fill the slots quickly by making direct contact with individuals on our waiting list.”

At the same time, the Bell County Public Health District says they have contacted Cedar Crest Hospital in Belton to determine if the hospital has vaccinated all of its staff and patients.

The hospital advised that they did not do so and that they would be willing to set up an emergency vaccination site to vaccinate their staff and patients.

“For the remaining doses, we focused on local groups that could both mobilize quickly, on short notice the numbers needed, and that internal medical staff could administer the doses,” Judge Blackburn said.

“That’s why we’ve worked with Bell County’s three largest school districts to organize vaccinations for their teachers and staff.”

School districts for several areas, Killeen ISD, Belton ISD, and Temple ISD have each agreed to receive and administer 325 doses and will offer the vaccination on Saturday, February 13th.

“We would like to thank Cedar Crest Hospital, Killeen ISD, Belton ISD and Temple ISD for acting during these weather conditions and helping the district use vaccines that would otherwise have been wasted,” The Bell County Public Health District said.

The Belton School District is holding a district workers’ vaccination clinic on Saturday to prevent the Bell County COVID-19 dose from expiring.

The clinic will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Pittenger Fine Arts Center, located at 400 North Wall Belton, Texas 76513.

The staff of the Belton ISD Health Services will administer COVID-19 vaccinations to district workers today at the Pittenger Fine Arts Center.

The school district “quickly mobilized nurses and staff volunteers to establish a vaccine that would give employees access to the vaccine.”

Killeen ISD will look at vaccinations at the transportation center.

The clinic starts at 10:00 and ends at 14:00 on Saturday 13 February.

The KISD vaccinations are for transport workers.

“We express our heartfelt thanks to the Bell County Public Health District for the opportunity to use vaccines that are at risk of not being administered,” says Belton ISD.
