Former President Donald Trump is expected to meet with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-California, on Thursday before his Senate hearing, Fox News has learned.
Quick facts
The meeting will take place in South Florida only a few weeks after the January 6 riots that accused Trump a lot and about which he was indicted by the House a week later for ‘inciting rebellion’.
In the aftermath, McCarthy opposed Trump’s accusation, but was open to a conscience resolution. But McCarthy recently expressed concern about GOP conference vote Liz Cheney to accuse Trump.
Trump’s trial, the first for a former US president, begins the week of February 8.
