Liv Tyler is the youngest star to test positive for COVID-19, comparing the impact of the virus to a ‘locomotive’.

Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler’s actress and daughter shared the news on Instagram Friday, along with a photo of herself wearing a mask and two of her three children. “Reunite with my loves … what a wild 2 weeks,” wrote Liv, 43. ‘I’m such a private and shy person and usually do not share such things, but it’s a big thing and I feel we all need to share our stories, share information, gather facts and awareness and most of all knowing that we are not alone in this. ”

Tyler said she tested positive for COVID-19 on New Year’s Eve. “Shit, I did this throughout 2020 to keep myself and my family safe,” she wrote. ‘I do everything I could to protect my wolf suit and follow the rules to protect others. Suddenly on the [morning] from the last day of 2020 … boom has brought me down. It arrives quickly, like a locomotive. Owchie. ”

Tyler said the news made her feel guilty about a pandemic that has infected more than 23 million people in the United States. “With it, feelings of fear, shame and guilt swirl through you, from whom would you get it and from whom could you be infected … frightening,” she wrote.

However, her family tested negative. Liv shares daughter Lula (4) and son Sailor (5) with fiancé Dave Gardner. Liv also has a 16-year-old son named Milo with his ex-husband and former Spacehog lead singer Roy Langdon.

“There are so many strange elements to this disease,” she wrote. “It [affects] all so completely different. I was so happy and had corona light, like my mom @realbebebuell [Bebe Buell] called it, but it floored me in my bed for ten days. There are the physical aspects but also emotional and psychological aspects. It is the same with your body and mind. Every day different. To be alone in a room for ten days is the least to say. ‘

Liv said recent events, such as the attack by the US Capitol by President Trump supporters to overthrow the upcoming presidency of Joe Biden (whose inauguration takes place on Wednesday) do not really look like it. ‘Wake up to the news that our capital is being attacked. Was it real or the twilight area? Ohhh no it really was !!! She wrote. ‘The first days of 2021 were scary for everyone in the world. The unknown so great. ”

Liv, however, could watch her children from afar. ‘I missed my babies further, but they visited my window and called to me and saw them playing outside. Such a gift. They sent small messages and drawings under my door. Memories of what is on the other side. For what to get better. ”

Liv said she has recovered and has compassion for other patients and health workers. ‘I’m so grateful I made it through and spent my days alone with love and affection for all who are there [affected] and suffer from it, ”she wrote. “Those who work tirelessly to protect and care for others. Thank you. We are all connected by this experience. I am humble and filled with gratitude for being healthy, a gift and radiant love and light to all who have left this world because of this virus and those who suffer … ‘

In September, Tyler left the Fox television series 9-1-1: Lone Star due to her itinerary amid the pandemic, according to a report by Variety. Tyler, who played Texas paramedic Michelle Blake in the first season, was worried about flights to and from the US (the actress lives in England). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a report on Friday stating that B.1.1.7, a “highly transmissible variant” of SARS-CoV-2, has been detected in ten U.S. states. The variant, which is also found in the UK, “has the potential to increase the US pandemic orbit in the coming months.”
