Listed horror game dedication is now available digitally for the first time in two years

Devotion, the horror game from Red Candle Games that was removed in February 2019, is now available digitally and in a DRM-free format. Red Candle Games announced the news on Twitter, which confirms that dedication, detention and all its future projects will be available in its own Red Candle e-store in the hope of providing a ‘direct and easy purchasing channel for players interested in our games.’
Dedication was taken out of Steam in 2019 after users found a Winnie the Pooh meme in the game mocking Chinese President Xi Jinping. Red Candle issued an apology shortly afterwards, while also saying it has no plans to release Devotion again soon.

In 2020, Devotion was back in the news, as Red Candle Games shared that Devotion would make its return on December 18, 2020 via CD Project’s GOG distribution platform.

However, GOG posted a message later that day saying, “After receiving a lot of messages from gamers, we decided not to list the game in our store.”Now, after more than two years, those who want to try dedication can finally do it again.

If you’re curious about the game, check out our Dedication Review, in which we said, “From start to finish, Dedication is an excellent psychological horror game full of surrealistic images, creepy puppets, and amazing environmental storytelling.”
