Lines form at PNC Arena, where nearly 1,500 COVID vaccines are distributed :: WRAL.com

– We have recently seen some encouraging COVID-19 numbers in our state – and this is a trend we all want to see continue.

Vaccinations are a critical part of the positive measures.

So let’s catch you up on some of the weekend vaccine clinics taking place today.

Nearly 1,500 people are expected to receive a vaccine at PNC Arena on Saturday at an appointment transit clinic.

This will be the second mass vaccination at PNC this week.

Thousands of people got their shots on Wednesday, but Thursday’s event was canceled due to the winter weather.

With today’s clinic, state leaders say more than 4,300 people will receive the doses at the arena.

Inpatient clinics Saturday

Wake County residents also have the chance to shoot at two inpatient clinics on Saturday.

More than 500 people will receive the dose at the Wake County Public Health Center.

And another 700 people will get it at the Wake County Commons Building.

The clinics are by appointment only.
