The upcoming movie from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway musical In The Heights has received just six notable new posters.
Lin-Manuel, 41, made his stage debut on Broadway in 2008 before becoming an international sensation with Hamilton.
One of the posters pays homage to the history of musicals by showing a pool dance number choreographed in the Busby Berkeley style.

All the dancers joined hands in a kaleidoscopic arrangement reminiscent of the ‘Human Waterfall’ series in Busby’s 1933 film Footlight Parade.
The musical is a tribute to the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan and some of the posters also pay tribute to the setting.
One shows a large production number breaking out into the streets, and the other offers a glimpse of the George Washington Bridge in the background.
Directed by Jon M. Chu of Crazy Rich Asians fame. The new In The Heights movie will hit theaters on June 18 and on HBO Max.

Lin-Manuel not only directed the original production of In The Heights, but also wrote the music and lyrics, with a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, who wrote the film.
The original show, which won the best musical and best score at the Tony’s, is a life slide about a Spanish community in Washington Heights.
Anthony Ramos plays in the film as Usnavi de la Vega, the role that Lin-Manuel played on Broadway in the original cast in 2008.

Telenovela star Melissa Barrera plays Usnavi’s love interest Vanessa, with Leslie Grace as Nina, who hides from her parents that she dropped out of Stanford.
Corey Hawkins, who played Heath in The Walking Dead and Dr. Dre played in Straight Outta Compton, playing the role of Nina’s forbidden love Benny.
