British singer Liam Payne has addressed a controversial part of a One Direction music video featuring the character of infamous Hollywood magnate Harvey Weinstein.
One of the most watched music videos of the track, Best song ever, with band member Niall Horan portraying the character of the convicted rapist and producer.
Regarding the song released in 2013, Payne admitted that he regrets adding the character of Weinstein.
During his Instagram Live with the director of the video, Ben Winston, it was confirmed that the character was indeed one of the fallen Hollywood bigwigs.
Winston said: ‘We could not make the video these days. We have a character based on Harvey Weinstein. Listen, he was just a famous guy. ‘
“I know, I think about it often. Jesus Christ, ”Payne added.
For the unseen people, Harvey Weinstein was convicted of a number of sex crimes in February last year. He is currently serving his 23-year prison sentence at Wende Correctional Facility in Alden, New York.
