LeVar Burton hosts ‘Jeopardy!’ with George Stephanopoulos

“Danger!” ends his 37th season with a bang.

The longtime game show on Wednesday announced its final hosts to conclude the latest season. LeVar Burton, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, David Faber (who is a former champion of ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’) And Joe Buck are among the stars nominated to host the hugely popular trivia game.

Burton had earlier expressed his great enthusiasm for presenting the program and taking over the reins from the late great Alex Trebek.

The 64-year-old “Reading Rainbow” host talks about his new concert Twitter, writes, “THANK YOU … to everyone for your passionate support! I am delighted, excited and eager to host Jeopardy; and I will do my utmost to fulfill your faith in you. YOU HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE! Go ahead and take my word for it, this time. ”

Earlier this month, Burton tweeted a campaign with fans calling him a permanent “Jeopardy!” To make. host.

“Leave it here in case the forces are listening,” said the ‘Roots’ actor tweeted next to a petition. The document has since received more than 250,000 signatures.

Burton recently appeared in the USA TODAY’s “The Mothership” podcast and goes on to talk about his desire to host the quiz show. “It’s something I think is a good idea,” he said. ‘I think it fits in well with what the show is, what the show requires and what I want to bring to the table. I feel as strongly about my fairness about this as about Kunta and Geordi. And I’m so invested in getting the job done. ”

Burton added that he feels he wants to ‘do justice to Alex’s legacy’. Trebek died of pancreatic cancer in November 2019 at the age of 80. The show paid homage to the legendary host’s legendary career in January.

After the death of Trebek, ABC journalist George Stephanopoulos apparently worked among several other candidates for the performances and brought his name ‘actively’ into the ring.

“Danger!” Executive producer Mike Richards issued a statement on Wednesday on the number of new hosts. “Our goal was to offer a wide variety of hosts with different skills and backgrounds on our way to finding a permanent host,” Richards said. “Our passionate fans tell us what they like, and we listen. All the hosts brought each of their episodes individualism, energy and a sincere love for our program. We look forward to sharing the rest of the season with our viewers. ”

In addition to the appearance of each host, a donation will be made to a charity of their choice. The amount donated will correspond to the cumulative profits of the participants competing during the week.

Last season 37 hosts included Anderson Cooper, dr. Mehmet Oz, dr. Sanjay Gupta, Savannah Guthrie, Katie Couric and Aaron Rodgers.
