Let Alex Trebek make a preconceived COVID-19 plea for danger!

After production was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, Danger! began releasing new episodes in September. This week, the final five new episodes of the show’s late presenter will be broadcast, with a sincere pre-recorded speech by Alex Trebek, filmed in October and initially scheduled for Christmas Week, in which he urges viewers to open their hearts for the millions of people affected by COVID-19 across the country.

“You will remember that about a month ago I asked you all to thank you for a moment for all the blessings you enjoy in your life,” Trebek said, referring to his equally moving speech of thanksgiving. ‘Now, today, a different kind of message: this is the season of giving. I know you want to be generous with your family, friends, loved ones. But today I want you to go one step further. I want you to open your hands and open your hearts to those who are still suffering from COVID-19. People who suffer without any guilt. We try to build a softer, friendlier society and if we all just take a little break, we get there. ‘

Trebek died on November 8, after receiving treatment for two years after his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. From Monday 11 January Danger! champion Ken Jennings will host, with future host (and the official replacement of the program) to be announced later. Monday’s episode concluded with a dedication to Trebek: “Forever in our hearts, always our inspiration.”
