Leonel Fernández: “The JCE has taken an unjust, irregular and unconstitutional decision”

The President of the Republic, Leonel Fernández, said that the plenum of the Junta Central Electoral (JCE) had taken a decision “unjust, irregular and not subject to the Constitution” to issue Regulation 01-2021 on the distribution of economic resources. of the State which establishes that only the parties of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) and the Dominican Liberation (PLD) are considered mayoral.

“We claim that it has only affected the People’s Force with this unjust and irregular decision that it has taken over the Junta Central Electoral that it has affected 23 parties of the Dominican Republic. We have no favor, no privilege and no we do not accept that we do not correspond to what we correspond with, we are looking for and we will insist on correcting the mistake we made “, Fernández said.

The leader of the Fuerza del Pueblo says that he will take up a remedy in the Junta Central Electoral and that he will continue to remedy in other instances of being necessary.

“If the Pueblo force wins 5% or more at the presidential level, it does not imply that it has reached the congressional level, because the criterion must be that which is more favorable to the right of the right. For this we consider the decision of the JCE injustice, irregularity and that it is not up to what is established “, added the exmandatario.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Plenary Session of the Institution, chaired by its President, Román Jáquez Liranzo, realized later, and took more than five hours

Agreed with the Ley 33-18 on Political Parties, Groups and Movements, 80% of the appeals assigned by the State to distributors between political parties will be redistributed in equal parts between the PRM and the PLD, because only the units 5% of the valid votes cast in the elections.

Fernández, who made statements during a judicial act, said that there is only one word that the Fuerza del Pueblo has escalated from casilla number 17 to casilla number 3 in the ballot box.
