The LEGO Group has officially launched its latest 18+ vehicle, the 2-in-1 10295 Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa.
10295 is described as the bridge between the 1970s and ’80s. This is the first time that the theme, formerly known as Creator Expert, has embarked on a Porsche – and it delivers not one, but two different variants of the German sports car.
With the 1,458 pieces you can build a Turbo or Targa version of the 911 (although this is very important – and of course not both). The Turbo coupe has a fixed roof and spoiler, while the Targa convertible has a removable roof but no spoiler. Both cars have a soft dark orange and nougat-colored interior, drawing inspiration from contemporary upholstery options.
10295 Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa are not the first Porsches to appear in LEGO form, nor the first time the 911 has been recreated in bricks.
Speed Champions and Technic have both tackled several variants of the iconic car with the rear car over the past few years, so it was really only a matter of time before a larger system version of Billund’s production lines was launched. The only question was: which one would the LEGO Group choose?
“While we were designing the car, the most difficult decision was to make the Turbo or Targa variant of the car,” said Mike Psiaki, LEGO design master.
‘It was such a difficult call that we designed the ability to build the LEGO Porsche 911 Turbo and Targa from a single set. Fans of the 911 around the world who have long admired these cars will no doubt have the opportunity to build both versions! ”
“We know that the Porsche 911 is attracting a certain amount of magic worldwide for customers and fans of our brand, and the latest LEGO additions to the 911 family – the LEGO Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa – are no different,” said Fabian. Schmölz, exterior designer, added. by Porsche.
“These incarnations of our sports car icon accurately capture the unmistakable design of the cars on which they are based, and it will provide a new family of fans a lot of enjoyment.”
Fans with a keen eye will notice that the series’ final subject matter makes no mention of the rumored Vehicle Collection label, which previously seemed an inevitable rebranding following the Modular Buildings Collection, Winter Village Collection and Botanical Collection.
Regardless, you will be able to add 10295 Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa to you own vehicle collection on 16 February for VIPs, or on 1 March for everyone else, for £ 119.99 / $ 149.99 / € 129.99.
