Michaels appeared on ‘The Rich Eisen Show’ on Monday morning, summarizing the career of one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

Michaels talked about Brees during his time at the San Diego Chargers, and how difficult it was to be an undersized fullback. He also touched on Brees’ visit to the free agency at the Miami Dolphins – a team that is reluctant to sign Brees due to a shoulder injury. Instead, Saints and head coach Sean Payton took a chance on Brees, and the rest is history.

“You have Katrina on top and the city is becoming a mess,” Michaels said. “It seemed like the league had to remove the franchise there at some point, and they don’t. They play all year in San Antonio and Baton Rouge while the city is rebuilt.”
Michaels added: “If you look at the body of his career, his work, it’s amazing. It’s clear he’s entering the Hall of Fame, the first vote, unanimously.”
