Left-wing protesters wreaked havoc in the streets of Portland on Wednesday night and, according to police and a local report, smashed windows against the Democratic Party’s headquarters.
Eight protesters were arrested on a variety of charges when hundreds of black-clad protesters marched in the northeastern part of the city, said the police.
Some of the arrests are related to vandalism in the Oregon Democratic Party headquarters, where protesters smashed windows and desecrated the building.
One protester is charged with ‘reckless burning’, Portland police said.
The protesters, who marched against police killings and ‘fascist massacres’, also threw rubble and policemen at the police, a local branch reported.
The protests hit the city on the same day that Democrat Joe Biden was sworn in as president of Washington, DC.
On one banner carried by the protesters, there was a message against Biden on which ‘revenge is being taken’ for ‘police killings’.
