Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is undoubtedly one of the greatest players in the history of basketball. But when two NFL events were offered to him during the 2011 NBA Exclusion, James said he was ‘seriously considering’ them.
During a recent interview with The Athletic, James said he believes he’s good enough to play in the NFL, and he has invitations from the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks to try for each team.

If he ended up playing football, James knows exactly what would have happened.
“I would have made the team,” James told The Athletic. “I would have tried it, but I caught up with the team. One thing about it is that I do not mind working for something, so if I had to try for the Cowboys or the Seahawks, or if I I stayed home and returned home to Cleveland, but I would have picked up the team.

James was a star-wide recipient in St. Louis. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. He allegedly received letters of recruitment from, among others, Florida State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Florida and South Carolina.

The current coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Urban Meyer, was the broad reception coach at Notre Dame at the time, and James mentions that he tried to recruit him to be part of the Fighting Irish.
“Urban Meyer recruited me,” James added. ‘I think at the time he was the broad receiving coach at Notre Dame. So yes, I’m appointed by all the big schools. ‘

James, who was 26 at the time, played in the Miami Heat. The Heat lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals, and the start of next season was postponed in December due to the exclusion, which lasted a process of a total of 161 days.
James led the Heat to NBA championships in 2012 and 2013.
