NBA star LeBron James targeted Ohio police who shot dead Ma’Khia Bryant, saying “YOU ARE FOLLOWING” in a tweet that has since been removed.
The world star posted the message on Twitter with a photo of Columbus police officer Nicholas Reardon identified as the cop who shot the 16-year-old during a domestic dispute in the Ohio city of Ohio.
“YOU ARE NEXT,” he wrote, followed by a drawing of an hourglass. “#ACCOUNTABILITY,” Fox News reported Wednesday.
James later deleted it, Fox said.
The sharp tweet came after a jury on Tuesday found ex-Derek Chauvin guilty of murder and manslaughter in the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
“RESPONSIBILITY”, James, who has long been a big supporter of Black Lives Matter and spoke out on issues of racial justice, tweeted after the verdict.
Authorities in Ohio said Wednesday Reardon is the officer who shot Bryant, saying state investigators are now investigating the incident.
Police footage released by Columbus officials shows Bryant hooking up with two other girls and rushing to one of them with a knife in her hand.
This is when Reardon saw four shots fired and the teenager dropped fatally wounded to the ground. She later died at a local hospital.
