League of Legends: Wild Rift’s open beta comes to North America in March

Fans in North America will be able to play League of Legends very soon on their phones. Today at a big event that sets out what 2021 will look like League, developer Riot has revealed Wild tear – the mobile and console version of the game – launches in March in an open beta in the Americas. It is not clear on which platforms the beta will be available, but previous open betas were mainly on Android and iOS.

In addition, Riot outlined its plans to support Wild tear throughout the year. These include regular events, such as a lunar New Year festival in February, a season starting this week in some regions, and the addition of about two new characters each month.

The other big unveiling of the event is related to Riot’s ambitions. League of Legends is probably the biggest competitive game in the world right now, and Riot is trying to do something similar for his tactical shooter Brave. So it should come as no surprise that the developer now says he wants to expand esports scenes for his trio of League spinoffs: Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra, en Wild tear.

Competitive mobile games such as Honor of kings, PUBG Mobile, en Brawl Stars is one of the most popular in the world, so it makes a lot of sense for Riot to try something similar with its smartphone titles, but there are not many details yet on what the scenes will look like yet.

Meanwhile, the developer also announced that this year League of Legends World Championships are held in Shenzhen, China. Last year’s event took place in Shanghai.
